VDKM [pump for the gentle handling of solids in suspension (channel)]
The VDKM pumps are especially designed for the gentle handling of solid particles in suspension. Typical applications are the transport of vegetables, fruits, shrimps, shellfish, waste water, tannery waste, foaming dyes, offal, etc.
Perfectly cleanable
Materials
All wetted parts are stainless steel.
Electropolished
All stainless steel parts in contact are electropolished as final surface treatment. This leads to an extremely low microroughness with a highly increased resistance to adhesion resulting in excellent ease of cleaning and the ultimate bateriological purity.
Electropolishing also offers a highly increase corrosions resistance due to the higher percentage of noble materials chromium and nickel at the surface.
Crevice-free design
The crevice-free design of all parts in contact fully meets today's requirements for hygienic standards (HACCP).
Possible product residue can be washed away without opening the pump by injection of pure water in the seal cavity.
Functional design
Solid construction
Pump casing and backplate have an important wall thickness.
Strong pump shaft with wear resistant wolframcarbide coating.
The double channel impeller is dynamically balanced. It operates free of vibrations offering a constant flow without product damage.
Stainless steel motor bases and shrouds (non-vibrating and noise-reducing design) are available. A sledge construction makes inspection of the impeller and mechanical seal possible without disassembly of the pump casing.
Standard components
The mechanical seals run in an oil bath. They are very reliable and have a high wear resistance. Dimensions are according to the DIN 24960 standard which makes them available world-wide.
Motors are according to the IEC standard. The pump can be factory fitted or subsequently changed to have motors with special characteristics (explosion proof, special voltage, special dimensions, frequency converter, etc.).
