FP3 [sanitary (single stage) centrifugal pump, up to 45 kW]

The FP3 is Packo's range of large, single stage, stainless steel centrifugal pumps for the food and processing industries. They are designed to the stricktest cleanability standards. Furthermore, the intelligent, modular construction incorporating standard components provides a very functional design. The FP3 range goes up to 300 m³/h / 1.300 US.GPM - 120 m / 400 ft - 45 kW / 60 HP and more.


 

 

 

 

Perfectly cleanable

Stainless steel 316L

  • All wetted parts are stainless steel 316L or better.
  • Pump casings are made out of thick cold-rolled plate: 100% non-porous and extremely smooth.
  • Impellers are investment cast that receive follow-up treatment.

 

Electropolished

All stainless steel parts in contact are electropolished as final surface treatment.

  • This leads to an extremely low microroughness with a highly increased resistance to adhesion resulting in excellent ease of cleaning and the ultimate bacteriological purity.
  • Electropolishing also offers a highly improved corrosions resistance due to the higher percentage of noble materials chromium and nickel at the surface.

 

Crevice-free design

The crevice-free design of all parts in contact - pump casing, back plate, impeller and seals - in combination with the optimal internal turbulence fully meets today's requirements for hygienic standards.

 

Functional design

Solid construction

  • Pump casing and backplate have an important wall thickness, up to 30 mm!
  • Massive stainless steel adapter with large openings allowing a simple visual inspection and easy removal of any leakage.
  • Stainless steel motor bases and shrouds (non-vibrating and noise-reducing design) are available.
  • Closed impeller, investment cast one-piece-construction, with following advantages: high efficiency, low NPSH-values, non-clogging, short back-blades eliminating possible axial stress on motor bearings and creating controlled pressure on the mechanical seal.

 

Standard components

  • Mechanical seal dimensions are according to the DIN 24960 standard. There is only one seal diameter for the whole range. A wide range of seal types, configurations and material combinations is available.
  • Motors are according to the IEC or NEMA standard. The pump can be factory fitted or subsequently changed to have motors with special characteristics (explosion proof, special voltage, special dimensions, integrated frequency converter, etc.).

 

Field of application

  • The Packo FP3 pumps are mainly used in the food and processing industries.
  • Some actual applications are: milk, egg, soya, beer, wort, wine, fruit juices, soft-drinks, alcohol, yeast, starch, vegetable and ethereal oils, sugar solutions, brine, blood, light chemicals, solvents, detergents, water, CIP-solutions, etc.
